Archaeology reveals a record of the human past that spans millions of years and the entire planet. We'll apply archaeological thinking and break that vast history into five major transitions: 1) the origins of tool use, 2) the development of culture, 3) experiments in farming, 4) state organization, and 5) the future. From “ape men” to outer space, we explore the evolution of what it means to be human – and predict where we may be headed next as a species.
