Laura Walker is a lifelong piano player and piano technician of 13 years.

Originally from Buffalo, NY, she moved to the Portland, OR area in 2004 and received her certificate in Piano Technology from the Emil Fries School of Piano Tuning and Technology (the “Piano Hospital”) in 2006. As the service department supervisor at Classic Pianos in Portland, OR from 2006-2012, Laura coordinated the service of a rotating inventory of 300+ pianos, maintained the concert piano fleet, supervised projects to ensure quality control and timely completion, supervised contract specialists and other members of the service department, as well as trained and supervised apprentice technicians. In 2012, Laura founded her piano service company Andante Piano Works where she specializes in aural tuning, repair, regulation, and modern player piano service throughout the Portland, OR metro area. She is the technician for Clark College, the assistant tuner for Lewis and Clark College, and has continued to hone her skills by attending seminars with the Yamaha and PianoDisc companies. In her role as a concert tuner in the Portland area, Laura has tuned for Michael Allen Harrison, Dr John, Vanessa Carlton, and Stevie Wonder.
