Joseph Patrick “Pat” Barry is a Certified Interpretive Trainer by the National Association for Interpretation.
He retired in 2015 after 35 years as a federal park ranger / interpreter / trainer, including 32 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at the Bonneville Lock and Dam. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for The Corps Foundation as the Communications Chair. He was the Regional Director, Pacific Northwest Region 10 of the National Association for Interpretation 2016 -2017 and was a member since 1988. He completed his book, Bonneville Lock and Dam: A Gift from the People of the Great Depression, in 2017. He has a Master of Science in Recreation and Park Administration with a focus in Environmental Interpretation from California State University, Sacramento and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Environmental Science (Double Major) from Post College, Long Island University in New York.
