Gunnar Abramson is a local historian with far-reaching interests which run the gamut from Military, Political, and Religious History to languages, philosophy, music, and antique militaria.

He is currently completing a book on the early Japanese Diaspora in the Pacific NW in keeping with his former academic focus on East Asia and a more recent interest in local histories. The latter has encouraged his community involvement in his local historical society. He enjoys teaching and connecting with the past - both the broad strokes and the minutia - through research, discussion, and engaging with his students.
